Privacy Policy for Respondents

This privacy policy describes how Opeepl collects and process Personal Data for market research studies.

This includes, but is not limited to, our survey web interface and our mobile application.

Opeepl conducts market research studies on its own behalf or on behalf of clients. To be able to do that, we need to collect Personal Data. We collect Personal Data both automatically and directly from you.

Below, we will explain the Personal Data we are collecting and the reasons for requiring it.

User Profile Data

If you are being transferred to our service for a One Time Payout, for example from an offerwall, this part does not apply to you.

Registration is mandatory in order to be eligible for prizes, rewards and other incentive programs provided by Opeepl or a third party partner.

When you register a user profile with us, you generally provide the following data to be used as background information:

  • Birthday
  • Gender
  • Country of residence
  • Postal code

We also need a way to notify you about new survey opportunities, which can be done in following ways:

  • Using your mobile phone number to receive text messages with survey opportunities
  • Create a login using a social media profile or mobile phone number in our app

All of the above are mandatory as we require it to select and notify you of relevant survey opportunities.

Choosing to log in with a social media profile only provides us with a user identifier and an access token which will be used to authenticate you.

We may also use the contact information you provided to supply you with important information or required notices, but never for marketing.

Additionally, you may provide the following information to simplify contact with us:

  • Name
  • Email address (May be required to get certain rewards paid out)

Answers given in the context of a survey

When answering surveys you may also give additional Personal Data. It is always voluntary to answer a survey and if you encounter a question you do not want to answer you can always stop answering the survey.

For certain campaigns, you might be given the option to provide the following contact information for rewards to be paid out:

  • Email
  • Phone number

Automatically Collected Information and Advertising

The following may be collected automatically, depending on which of our services you use:

  • The browser’s user agent
  • A temporary link between a user profile and answers to a survey.
  • Your IP address
  • Information about the pages you visit while on our website
  • Custom events such as finishing a survey and submitting answers
  • Device information such as brand and operating system

If you use our app we also collect your mobile device’s unique advertising identifier (IDFA/AAID) which in some cases are used to register rewards with a third party partner. We do not use this identifier for anything else.

In rare cases, the browser or device type may be included in the market research results. The rest of the automatically collected information listed above will only be used for security purposes, quality control and fraud detection.

Cookies and Tracking

Read our Cookie and Tracking policy.

Survey Opportunities

We only present you with surveys that match your profile. We do this based on your background information.

Survey Answers

If you answer a survey your background information is placed into broader segments, such as geographical regions or age groups, to avoid identification. Contact information will not be available to us or our clients.

Any personal data given as answers during a survey will not be modified in any way and will be visible to us and our clients.

During collection of research data a temporary link between the user profile and their answers to surveys will be kept. This link is only used for quality control and fraud detection. Only Opeepl will have access to this link.

The temporary link will be deleted after quality control has concluded, at latest 1 month after the research collection has finished.

We will share your information with third parties only in the ways that are described in this privacy statement.

We may disclose user provided and automatically collected information:

  • as statistical reports in aggregated, anonymized data to Opeepl clients and their customers.
  • as required by law, such as to comply with a subpoena or similar legal process.
  • when we believe in good faith that disclosure is necessary to protect our rights or investigate fraud.
  • with our service providers who work on our behalf and have agreed to a Data Processing Agreement. This includes for example our IT hosting and SaaS providers.
  • if Opeepl ApS is involved in a merger, acquisition or sale of all or a portion of its assets you will be notified of any change in ownership or uses of this information as well as any choices you may have.
  • our third party panel providers if that is the method through which you have signed up.

We will retain User Provided data for as long as you use our services or have a profile and for a reasonable time thereafter. We will retain Automatically Collected information for up to 1 year.

You can stop all future collection of information by our services by deleting or deactivating your profile.

You can also delete the optional parts of your profile data and thereby opt-out of having that information used in the future.

The personal data given in the context of answering a survey cannot be deleted as the answers have been anonymized, cannot be linked to your profile and are used as statistical research.

You can contact us at panel@opeepl.com to update your information or have your profile deactivated or deleted.

You can also use our mobile app to update your information and delete or deactivate your profile.

We do not knowingly solicit data from or market to children under the minimum age of consent in the relevant country. If a parent or guardian becomes aware that their child has provided us with information without their consent, they should contact us. We will delete such information, if possible, from our records within 30 days.

In case of a security breach we will notify the supervisory authority in Denmark, Datatilsynet, within 72 hours of detection.

If the breach is likely to result in a high risk of adversely affecting your rights and/or freedom, we will inform you without undue delay.

In case of changes to the Privacy Policy, we will notify you through the relevant services. In some situations we may also require renewed consent from you, which we may contact you to get.
